Radio Telemetry Modems

The 'LR' and 'SR' modems are new range of digital radio telemetry systems to complement the Ohmex Tide Gauge and Weather station products, housed in a robust IP67 aluminium cases the modems are suitable for use in licence free Marine applications worldwide. The LR radios use a spread spectrum technology to avoid interference and provide clear data communications between modems at baud rates up to 115.2 Kbps. The SR radio system use 20 channels within the open license free EU radio frequencies The radios can be set up in secure Master, Slave or Repeater modes providing 'Point to Point' and 'Point to Multipoint' network combinations.

Ohmex Telemetry Features

The LR Spread Spectrum Radio is a 1 Watt Spread Spectrum Radio that operates in the 2.4-2.83GHz ISM frequency range. The technology spreads the normally narrowband information signal over a relatively wide band of frequencies. This allows the communications to be more immune to noise and interference from RF sources such as pagers and cellular phones. The radio reduces susceptibility to RF interference from other spread spectrum devices by providing user-selectable frequency hopping patterns. The modem radio provides general purpose wireless data communications, and supports point-to-point and point-to-multipoint datalogger communications. It can serve as a field modem/radio while connected to the datalogger, a stand-alone repeater, or as a base station modem/radio when connected to a computer.
